| What is Migraine? |
|
| Migraine is painful, sometimes disabling headaches that are often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, noise, and smell. These throbbing headaches usually occur on only one side of the head, although the pain can shift from one side of the head to the other, or can occur on both sides at the same time. |

| What
causes Migraine? |
|
| Migraine can run in families, and a genetic link
has been identified. However, it is not entirely
clear why some people get Migraine and others do
not. While the cause of Migraine is not well understood,
it seems to involve widening and narrowing of the
blood vessels in the brain, which triggers changes
in brain chemicals, inflammation, and pain. |

| Triggers
of Migraine |
|
| What causes Migraine is still somewhat of a mystery. Doctors believe that it has to do with the blood vessels in the head contracting and then expanding. This happens from time to time to most people, but with Migraineurs this tends to be more intense and painful. The exact cycle of events taking place in our brains during a Migraine attack is still not fully understood. |
